Hurricane Helene Disaster Relief

3 weeks after Hurricane Helene made landfall, leaving a devastating mark on WNC, the need is still ongoing. As a Type 1 Diabetic myself, I am personally asking for your help. This is just one opportunity to contribute which will help immensely in very specific ways to a very specific community.

This November Hope Voyage will be hand delivering Diabetic Relief Packs to survivors living with diabetes. These packs are tailor-made to meet the unique needs of diabetics including dietary requirements, glucose monitoring, and infection prevention—a crucial lifeline in these trying times. Two have already gone down and have been put into the hands of nurses to be given to those in need. You'd be surprised how important sugar is to a diabetic when there is none to be found and their glucose levels are dropping. Something that simple becomes a matter of life or death. Insulin is a part of a Type 1 Diabetic's daily life. Without it, glucose numbers will rise with no end in sight causing a slew of added health problems and could eventually be fatal as well.

Though Hope Voyage cannot distribute insulin (yet - we are looking into this) we rely on organizations like Insulin For Life USA who have distributed over 700,000 units of insulin and resources to TN and WNC! However, we CAN provide all other supplies needed for a diabetic to navigate this very difficult circumstance. But, not without your help.

Please, prayerfully consider sponsoring a pack or contributing towards one. Follow the QR code below to do so. The donation link is hosted by our friends at Maritime Ministries Inc in NC. All funds will go directly to the Diabetic Relief Packs. Also, contact me, Kayla Stone, via the email below with your personal message you would like to send to a diabetic survivor of Helene. Words of encouragement are powerful in times like these. Thank you for your prayers and for your giving heart! The is HOPE!

Please like & share! Can we send 20 packs to NC in November??
